(arrhythmia).
The causes of heart disease include, for example, circulatory

Treatment
and diagnostics prices in Germany
The organization of the treatment in Germany is not cheap compared
to the prices in developing countries. In difficult cases, such as
surgery, health facilities require a deposit, about 10% of the
cost of treatment. The patient pays for the referral and the
translator. But it costs many times cheaper than in the USA or
Great Britain. Treatment and diagnostic prices in Germany:

Radiotherapy
|
Radiotherapy is the most commonly used
form of therapy in women with breast cancer. The genetic material of
the irradiated cells is damaged by high doses of ionizing radiation (e.g.
X-rays) – that of healthy cells as well as that of remaining cancer
cells.
Prostate cancer
Two different types of radiation therapy are used for prostate
carcinoma: percutaneous radiation therapy (radiation from the outside)
and brachytherapy (radiation from the inside using a radioactive
substance = radionuclide introduced into the prostate).
Effect
How does radiation therapy work? In radiation therapy, cancer cells
are destroyed using ionizing radiation or particle radiation. The
radiation damages the genetic material of the cells so that cell
division stops and the cells perish. The tumors become smaller or even
disappear.
Length of time
Standard radiation (external radiation therapy with linear
accelerators) usually requires 25 to 30 outpatient appointments, once
a day on weekdays; the entire radiation treatment takes about five
weeks on average (minimum two, maximum eight weeks). |
